Washington dissolution cases follow RCW Chapter 26.09, which governs dissolution, legal separation, and parenting plans. Washington is a no-fault state. The only ground for dissolution is an irretrievably broken marriage. Either party can file. One party must be a Washington resident or an armed forces member stationed here at the time of filing. The filing fee is roughly $314. Fee waivers are available for low-income filers.
